Rob - Rob's career began back in 1976 when he trained for three years and qualified working on Volkswagan & Saab vehicles. He spent the following three years working on Suzuki GB motorbikes to extend his motor experience. Rob then spent the following 10 years working at 'Tyrrell Engineering' which was based in Wallasey. His role was very varied and he is proud to have restored classic cars, re-built vintage cars and tuned performance cars. These included Mercedes, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, Porsche and Ferrari Tour de France. Tyrrell Engineering was subsequently bought by Road Range which lead to Rob working at Road Range Liverpool (Man Island) and specialising in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Road Range Wirral (West Kirby) opened in 1998 and Rob was one of the engineers selected to work there from its opening. Whilst there Rob was promoted on several occasions fulfilling a number of roles from Head Technician, Foreman & Diagnostic Technician and finally, Service Team Manager in which he obtained the internationally recognised C Service qualification in 2006/07. In April 2009 Road Range Wirral closed and Rob along with business partner Steve opened MB-Wirral.
Steve - Steve's career began in 1993 when he completed a two week work experience period at Road Range Liverpool (Man Island). In 1994 he was then offered a job by Road Range as part of a youth training scheme. Steve then rotated between Road Range Liverpool and Road Range Wirral for the following years until he qualified as a technician in 1999. In 2004/05 Steve was promoted to Service Team Manager and also recieved the internationally recognised C Service qualification in 2006/07. Steve continued within this role until Road Range's closure in April 2009 when he opened MB-Wirral with his business partner Rob. Steve & Rob attended and completed various Mercedes-Benz courses during their time at Road Range which took place in the UK and Germany.
Dave – Dave’s career started in 2004 when he volunteered part time at a Chester based garage. In 2005 he joined Volkswagen and participated in their apprentice scheme. Dave qualified following completion of his 3 year apprentice course and went on to win Dave continued to build his experience with Volkswagen qualifying in Advanced Electronics, diagnostics and undertaking training to be an engine specialist. Dave has always had a personal love for Mercedes Benz vehicles and as such always had a desire to work on them. The opportunity arose when he joined MB-Wirral in December 2010. Dave has made a smooth transition and enjoys working on the high specification, advanced vehicles at MB-Wirral.
Tom - Tom's career began in 2008 when he completed the first year of Heavy Vehicle training. Tom has sucessfully completed his first years Light Vehicle training and as an outstanding student has been awarded thear Apprentice in the Motor Trade Award 2010. He has also been nominated for the Wirral Apprentice Scheme's - Apprentice of the Year Award 2010. Tom's favourite aspect of his role at MB-Wirral is that he is able to specialise in Mercedes-Benz vehicles allowing him to gain detailed and specific knowledge.
